Hiatus

thatocsam:

I’m putting all of my characters on hiatus (Wally, Annalyssa, Bree and Wally the Wailmer) starting tomorrow.

My hiatus might last anywhere from 2 weeks to the entire fall semester, depending on my workload. As much as I want to rp, I really need to get good grades this semester, or else I wont be able to graduate on time.

I will still be on my personal, and I might drop in TC when I’ve got the time.

The growlithe arfed happily upon hearing the name, almost jumping out of Cheren’s arms as if he was trying to go after the breath of air that once contained it. “Dylan it is, then.”

She ruffled the Growlithe’s fur once more, then looked at Cheren. “I’m really glad you like him, but.. It’s getting kinda late. I should get back before Autumn gets worried.” She hugged him tightly before heading for the door. “I’ll see you around, okay?”

Cheren picked up the Growlithe and petted him some more. Arceus, all these new pokemon started to make him feel like a little boy again. “But you’re the one who caught him,” Cheren reasoned. “Besides, I want you to.”

“Alright then!” She petted the little Growlithe as she thought of a name for him. She had been traveling with the Pokemon for about a week now, and had grown attached to him. “How about Dylan?”

Cheren was rather excited to see his new pokemon, and thus called him out.

The growlithe instantly sat down, obediently and barked once. Hmm. This boy… didn’t look familiar… His tongue lolled out as he panted, his head tilting to one side out of curiosity.

“Well, hello there,” he chuckled, allowing the growlithe to sniff at his hand to get familiar, then petting him. Cheren looked back up at Annalyssa. “Well, of course he should have a name. But I’d like you to give him one.”

Annalyssa smiled as she watched the Growlithe and his new trainer interact. When he asked her to name the new Pokemon, she was confused. “Me? But he’s your Pokemon..”

Cheren’s eyes widened. He couldn’t talk for a second, but when he found his voice again, he regained composure. His smile widened as he held out his hand for the pokeball. “I - Thank you, Annalyssa,” he said with gratitude, almost laughing from not being able to believe it.

She handed over the Pokeball, and giggled. She was glad that she made the right choice for him. “So, are you gunna name the little guy?”

Cheren opened his mouth to argue with Wally, but then it dawned on him: Why was he even trying to reason with him in the first place. Instead, he patted him again, noticing that he calmed down.

“O-oh, is that so?” He was surprised, though pleasantly so. He smiled. “Hear that, Wally? Looks like we’ll have a new friend joining us.”

“That’s right, Wally!” Annalyssa grabbed a Pokeball off of her belt, and hit the button once to make it bigger.

She held the Pokeball up and said in an excited voice, “Are you ready forr…… YOUR NEW GROWLITHE!~”

“Willy is short for ‘William’,” Cheren reasoned while crossing his arms. “And means ‘protector’. Therefore, it’s not icky.”

As he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, he heaved another sigh. “Mhmm. I feel like I’m a father, really.” He looked over at Wally, before taking to petting him rather fondly. “But he’s a good boy for the most part.”

Wally stuck out his tongue. “No, no, no! William is icky too!”

At the mention of him being a ‘good boy’ Wally smiled, and stopped fidgeting so much.

“A father, huh?” She smiled at the purple Pokemon as he calmed down a little. “You know, that reminds me, I have your new Pokemon!”

Cheren put a hand over his mouth to hide the silly grin forming on his face and to supress a chuckle. He still couldn’t get over that face of his. “If you say so, Wally.”

He turned back to Annalyssa. “Yes, that’s his name. I was going to name him Willy, but…” The boy sighed, feeling defeated every time he thought of it. “He just really liked the name. Ah, well.”

Wally bounced around a little as Cheren talked. “Yeah, Willy is an icky name. I like Wally!”

“I agree. Wally is definitely not icky.” She giggled and petted the Wailmer’s head.

She looked back and Cheren. “I can see what you mean about him being a handful.”

Cheren’s hand, meet Cheren’s face. Face, meet hand.

“Hi, Wally.”

The wailmer’s trainer gestured towards him. “Annalyssa, I’d like you to meet… Wally. He’s… rather eager.” he then turned back to Wally. “There is a possibility that she would laugh because you’re so… so… silly. By nature.”

For some reason, Cheren could never call anything ‘cute’ or ‘adorable’. It just. Didn’t feel right. In his mouth.

“What, what what? I’m not silly, Cheren, I’m super serious!”

O/\O

She giggle a little. The Wailmer certainly was energetic. “So, his name is Wally? That’s really cute!”

“… Don’t laugh.” Cheren eyed his jacket pocket for a moment. Wally was rather unpredictable when it came to when he would decide to pop out of his pokeball without being called out. “But. A wailmer.” It probably sounded a little silly for someone like him to have one. But, it did make him happy. “It’s… also a rare in a sense that it’s a shiny one. I don’t even know what made him come to us, but.” He shrugged. “Have to admit, I feel quite lucky to have met him.”

“Huu huu!” Wally released himself from his Pokeball at the word Wailmer. “Why would she laugh, Cheren?”

Annalyssa’s face lit up when the purple Ball Whale Pokemon appeared. “Ohh, Cheren, he’s right! Why would I laugh at a little cutie like this?”
